World Environment Day 2009

‘Your Planet Needs You – UNite to Combat Climate Change’

World Environment Day was established by the United Nations to stimulate worldwide awareness of the environment. Every year this day is celebrated around the world in many ways including parades, green concerts, essay and poster competitions in schools, tree planting, recycling efforts, clean up campaigns with many more events taking place. This year’s theme is ‘Your Planet Needs You – UNite to Combat Climate Change’.

As a means of celebrating World Environment Day, we have put together some free fun environmental activities worksheets for you to do in school or at home that will help you to explore the wonderful world around you. These worksheets were developed in conjunction with artist and community gardener Seoidín O’Sullivan, inspired by the South Circular Road Community Garden Project.
