The Ark creates programmes for children and young people between the ages of 3 – 14 and all Ark programmes are age specific.

The Ark welcomes all children to its programmes. Our productions, workshops and exhibitions are open to children with individual requirements and the physical spaces within The Ark are fully wheelchair accessible. Please note that the number of wheelchair spaces available for theatre events varies depending on the scale of the performance. Please contact the box office manager directly. If you or your group have any individual requirements, please let us know when booking your tickets so that we are able to maximise the enjoyment of your visit.

All Ark programmes are age-specific, because children’s interests and skills develop with age, and because children generally benefit from participating in cultural activity with other children of their own age. Age suitability is central in our minds when putting a programme together, so please respect the designated age range when booking.

Please be advised that as a courtesy to performers and other audience members, latecomers will not be admitted.

Without our box office income, The Ark could not continue to operate at the level we do. So thank you for choosing The Ark and helping us to consistently produce the best in tailored arts events for young people. Ticket prices at The Ark are kept low so they can remain affordable for all children and families, with additional concessions for the unwaged, students, those parenting alone and senior citizens.

The Ark also operates a ‘20% Scheme’ whereby children from Schools Serving Disadvantaged Areas, special needs schools and schools from outside Dublin can avail of a 20% reduction on most school ticket prices. In addition, under this scheme, all accompanying teachers go free.

If you are celebrating a birthday or other event, why not make it really special by coming to The Ark as a group? We offer special discounts for groups of ten or more for all public performances and workshops to make your child’s big day one to remember. Gift vouchers are also available for events – just enquire at the box office.

When you visit The Ark, you will meet our lovely box office and front of house team. They are there to look after you and to ensure you enjoy your experience while you are visiting, so if you require assistance with anything, or have any problems, do let them know.

Please note that in general, children must be accompanied to exhibitions and performances, but that children over 6 generally attend workshops unaccompanied.
