Celebrate Universal Children’s Day - "A Day in my Life"

Childrens Photo Exhibition day, Nov 22nd - Nov 25th 2005

To celebrate Universal's Children's Day (Nov 20th) and One World Week, Plan and Hullabaloo Children's Festival will host a children's photographic exhibition:

When: Tuesday November 22nd 2005 - Friday November 25th
Where: The Ark, A Cultural Centre for Children in Temple Bar, Dublin.

Over 100 primary school children from eight countries including Ireland took part in the project. Each child received a disposable camera and was asked to take a photograph that represented "a day in my life". The children had more in common than was first imagined - it seems boys from Dublin to Haiti love football and the Irish children added they "were surprised the African children looked so happy". (Three schools in Ireland in Ireland participated in the project).

The opening of the exhibition takes place on Tuesday Nov 22nd at 11am. RTE's Katriona McFadden and Bumpy the Dog will be on hand to assist and 30 young photographers from Monkstown Educates Together National School will help Minister of State of Health and Children, Brian Lenihan open the exhibition.

Background: Plan and Hullabaloo Children's Festival collaborated to create an exhibition by children for children.
