Winter season now on sale!
Booking is now open for Christmas Favourites, our winter season of festive treats to warm up the approaching chilly months.

We’ve brought back some of our favourite events to entertain visitors to The Ark between 21 November and 20 December including our old friends Nico Brown and Martin Brunsden who you may remember from The Christmas Orchestra in 2007.

They will once again fill The Ark theatre with music, song and seasonal cheer each weekend between Saturday 28 November and Sunday 20 December.

But to kick off the Christmas Favourites season… for one weekend only on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 November… The Ark presents Christmas Inklings with visual artist Liz Smith where children and families can get creative with pop up cards and pictures capturing Christmas tales and winter wonders!

Visit our programme pages to find out more, or go straight to our booking pages to reserve your tickets.

The Next Stage at The Ark
The Ark was delighted to be part of Theatre Forum’s The Next Stage programme for the second year running.

Now in its third year, The Next Stage is a wonderful, all engrossing programme spanning more than two weeks aimed at performing artists of all kinds. Eighteen people were selected to take part in a programme of master classes, talks, physical workshops and performances. The programme takes advantage of the unique opportunities presented by Ulster Bank Dublin Theatre Festival and the world-class directors, playwrights, actors and designers who were in town during the Festival.

Last week, The Next Stage participants attended a performance of Gruppe 38’s Hans Christian, You Must Be an Angel in The Ark’s site-specific secret venue. The Next Stage participants were then invited to The Ark to meet with Bodil Alling, Artistic Director and actor with Gruppe 38 to hear from her about the company’s approach to working with young audiences.

The participants were invited to respond to Hans Christian, You Must Be an Angel and have an open discussion around the development of this piece of theatre. Bodil also gave an insight into the long tradition of theatre for young audiences in Denmark.

The Ark always welcomes the opportunity to put work for children on the agenda for theatre practitioners and this was a fantastic platform to do so.
