Looking through The Open Window this December is your opportunity to witness first hand the creative processes of our Artist in Residence programme.
As part of the Year of Childhood, Yvonne Cullivan has been engaged as The Ark’s Artist in Residence. She has been leading children and young people through a series of one off and longer term workshops that have explored the theme of physicality through a fusion of traditional art materials and digital media.
This ongoing year-long project has involved over 1700 participants in public, school and long term workshops. Yvonne has, using the theme of the residency, been exploring and evoking children’s own reactions to their sense of self in relation to their physical space. A continuous work in progress, the residency has been playful and experimental in its essence while also allowing young people to develop their own ideas.
The display will also feature work by Yvonne, who has developed her own ideas throughout the collaborative process of working with young people in The Ark. Work will be ongoing until the end of November, so we’re intrigued to discover what The Open Window will reveal. We hope you will be able to join us as this artistic journey comes to an end.
