Why not join in some festive fun with our Christmas Orchestra at The Ark this winter?

Former musician in residence Nico Brown is delighted to be returning with double bassist Martin Brunsden to The Ark at this special time of year to lead your whole family on a magical musical experience.

This festive event will introduce young people and their families to the angklung. An angklung is a tuned bamboo rattle which has a melodious sound. The technique is fun and quickly learnt – no experience is required!

Christmas carols will be sung and music will be played by everyone in the unique orchestra that you will help to create. The perfect way to celebrate Christmas with your entire family!

Teachers Corner

This is an interactive musical and imaginative experience that will address elements of the primary school music curriculum including listening, responding, performing and composing. The instruments used are pitched percussion, and will give experience of both rhythm and pitch. There is an element of improvisation built into the hour.
