Do you have your own special place? A place whose story only you know...a
space to just sit still?
The Ark's Artist in Residence, Yvonne Cullivan, has spent the last few months
in her special place, her studio in Co. Cavan. Equipped with thoughts and ideas
from children she met at The Ark earlier this year, she has been focusing on
her own childhood places, spaces and stories whilst working on a body of mixed-media
pieces to share with you.
Come explore with Yvonne the 'story' of the spaces you occupy, real and imaginary,
in Spaces and Places, our public autumn workshops for 7 to 12 year olds.
Through new media as well as more traditional art forms like sculpture and drawing,
young people will work with Yvonne to explore hiding places. This will lead to
the creation of video and sound pieces, which can then be viewed in the new hiding
places made by workshop participants.
