The Ark, A Cultural Centre for Children presents

Figure Me Out

The Ark Artist in Residence 2007 Spring Programme

Ever tried to draw your personality? Or make a portrait with your voice? Figure Me Out is a series of once-off workshops for children of all ages to explore the theme of physicality.

Using a diverse range of media including drawing, digital animation, photography, sound and even movement, participants will work with The Ark’s Artist in Residence, Yvonne Cullivan, to investigate aspects of their physical selves: bodies and shapes, thespaces and places we inhabit, personality, individuality, and how the body relates to the mind.

Older groups will explore identity, portraiture and physical presence, while younger groups will investigate physical presence through sound and movement. Figure Me Out is the first programme of activity in the year-long Artist in Residence project, a flagship event of The Ark’s Year of Childhood 2007.
